Web Accessibility Statement

Loon Mountain is committed to providing users a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience.

This website seeks to comply with best practices and standards, as defined by level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0. These guidelines set forth how to make the internet user friendly and content accessible for individuals with disabilities. 

The pages of this website are being assessed with the WAVE validation tool from WebAIM and checkmycolours.com, to evaluate for compliance to accessibility guidelines. This is an ongoing process to improve the content accessibility of the website.

Accessibility Features

This website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Inclusion of alternative text detail for images (task currently in progress). Images added to the site prior to March 2016 may lack some alt text detail.
  • Captioned videos
  • Skip to content (included in current development scope of work to bring site into compliance)

Known Accessibility Issues

We are currently working to fix the following issues:

  • An issue preventing the image alt text applied to images/graphics from displaying in the footer of the site
  • Insufficient color contrast between content and background color in several locations
  • Stylizing links to display with underline
